Picking strawberries
|
|
It's our first experience of picking strawberries after two years living in Japan. Kyushu is the main strawberry producer in Japan. So don't want to miss the chance of visiting strawberry farm  . Went there with Zaki and kids, Rod's wife, Mariam and family, Kak Kam, Azu and Aisya. It's only took about one hour to reach the farm.... near Big Eye Stadium. We really have a great time. Pick and eat...bought some... 150 yen per 100 grams.

Zakiah at school - second term 2004/05
|
|
Various activities were held by Oita Deaf School during the second term of year 2004/05.
Among others are Sport Day, Shopping Activity, Culture day (文化祭), 発表かい (presentation), rope skipping day and karuta day.

Trip to Fukuoka
|
|
We took the opportunity of 3 days break touring around Fukouka City. We stayed at Dr. Faris and Harmiza house. Thanks a lot for their hospitality. They are going back to Malaysia this March for good. We wish them the best of luck.
Well, during the trip Zakiah was the happiest person......met a new friend.....Ichiro.

Zakiah at Oita Deaf School ( first term 2004)

It is a great opportunity to send our second daughter to study at Oita Deaf School's kindergarten class. Here in Japan, kindergarten class for deaf kid started at 4 years old. It's a compulsory for mother to accompany their kid every day at the school. At the first time it was quite tiring. But as we get used to it, it is an enjoyable and great experience.

PTA Cooking activity
|
|
PTA of Oita Deaf School has arranged cooking activity for the mothers who has kid study in kindergarten classes (うさぎ, あひる and さくら 組み). Actually we planned this activity since last year...but many things came and we always change the date.
As we were given only three hours to use kitchen facility at the 西部公民官 (Municipal Hall), we decide to cook curry noodle. Thank you Rita san for 'nasi kuning' ( Indonesian cooking) and being my translator along this activity. Really hope everybody likes the food and had a good time together

Idul Adha fall on exam day  ...APU as well as Oita daigaku. So we celebrate it a week later....a la bbq.

Tempura
|
|
We went to a tempura restaurant which is one of the oldest and popular tempura restaurant in Oita. The restaurant opened in 1948 during Showa era. Well, it is quite expensive but the recipe is original....served in classic Japanese style and fresh... besides nice view.

Hari pertama Hanna ke sekolah di Ishigaki Higashi...macam-macam perasaan ada...risau, takut dan gembira. Boleh ke dia belajar di sekolah yang menggunakan bahasa Jepun sepenuhnya. Alhamdulillah.... cikgu, kawan-kawan dan ibu kawan-kawan yang tinggal berdekatan rumah banyak membantu kami. Cepat Hanna dapat menyesuaikan diri dan mendapat kawan yang peramah dan sentiasa menolong.
Tidak pernah dia minta untuk tidak ke sekolah....kehadirannya penuh dan tidak pernah lupa menyiapkan homework. Inilah perbezaan sistem pendidikan di Jepun dengan Malaysia. Anak-anak ke sekolah ( peringkat sekolah rendah) bukan bermatlamatkan peperiksaan tetapi lebih kepada membentuk jati diri, fizikal badan yang sihat, hidup bermasyarakat di samping ilmu asas bahasa Jepun, matematik dan sains.
Aktiviti sukan tahunan simple, tidak formal dan pantas tak meleret-leret. Paling menonjol....melibatkan kesemua pelajar. Ibu bapa dan keluarga termasuk datuk, nenek datang memberi sokongan. Macam picnic tepi pantai...tengok sukan sambil makan-makan. Bila anak-anak dia orang ambil bahagian, masing-masing sibuk ambil gambar...macam-macam jenis kamera canggih baik kamera digital atau kamera video. Macam jurugambar berebut-berebut ambil gambar. Enjoy...

Kenangan di Gyotoku, Chiba.
|
|
Setahun di Gyotoku bermula April 2003 hingga Mac 2004 membawa seribu kenangan yang tak mungkin dapat kami lupakan. Brother Razak yang sudah berada di Jepun lebih 10 tahun banyak membantu, begitu juga kawan-kawan di Apartmen Takara, Gyotoku. Setahun bersama Kak Ton dan Kak Noni serta datin-datin Takara memberi banyak kenangan dan pengalaman..terima kasih semua.
